Congrats to Zooskers Matt and Annely from Australia! The couple met on Zoosk and now they’re married! Matt wrote to share his Zoosk success story:
My name is Matt. I’m 27 and from Australia. I just wanted to share our success story, thanks to Zoosk, of falling in love and getting married. My wife’s name is Annely, and she was in Australia on a working holiday visa at the time.
I joined Zoosk as a bit of a dare from my mates as I had been single for a while and not interested in the “usual” way of meeting girls in clubs etc, and Annely joined to try and make some friends in Australia while she was here. We first contacted each other through Zoosk last year, and then used Facebook and mobiles to chat to each other for several months before we met. We used to play 20 questions with each other as a bit of a game to get to know one another, taking it in turns to ask a question. After a while we realised we had so much in common and decided to meet. I then realised she would be returning to Italy once her visa had expired, and that I couldn’t live without her .. So I took her away to a nice beach not too far from us for the weekend and proposed to her on the cliff, with ring in hand. Now we are married and living together with a kitten we adopted from an animal rescue centre. We are both young and full of life .. and you have turned us both into believers that its not just losers or weirdos that fall in love online!!
I’m so happy that you introduced me to the girl of my dreams, and now we have a whole life ahead of us to grow together and build our future. I hope this makes you as happy as it has made us, so keep it up and THANK YOU!!
We with Matt and his wife Annely all the best. If you’ve got a Zoosk success story, send it to us at success [at] zoosk [dot] com - and don’t forget to set up your free Zoosk Couple Profile. Happy Zoosking!
Zoosk’s romantic song of the week is Donny Hathaway’s beautiful, soulful tune “A Song for You”. Did you know that Justin Timberlake recently sang this very tune for his bride Jessica Biel on their wedding? It’s that romantic. Enjoy!

Many of us have had the experience of coming across someone we dated previously, (maybe someone we took to the prom?) a few years later, and have felt an old ember of romance begin glowing again. Now that you have asked him or her out to catch up and see what might be next, what are some things to remember to help connect? Here’s 3 tips for rekindling the old flame:
1. That was then and this is now.
Whether your previous connection with your flame was a couple dates in high school or a more serious relationship, remember that intervening years and experiences have changed you both. Don’t expect to “pick up where you left off” though this may indeed happen. One of the pleasures of meeting an old friend (whether romantic or platonic) is seeing how they’ve changed since you last spent time together; savor this experience on your date.
2. Avoid “High School Reunion Syndrome”
It can be a big temptation to impress someone who we haven’t seen in years with a List of Our Awesome Accomplishments Since Then. While bringing your date up to speed on your life since you last saw one another, remember that this is not a job interview. Be yourself, and perhaps share a mildly embarrassing story from your life in the years since your last meeting – this will go a long way to connecting with your old flame and also dissolving tensions.
3. Watch Your Expectations
If your previous relationship was a more intense one, it can be a temptation to make all sorts of assumptions before your date about how it will go, and what sort of feelings the other party may have about you and your date. While the fact that you are going on a date is great, it is best to guard against getting too caught up in romantic expectations or fears. Just live in the moment on your date, and enjoy catching up with your old flame, and remember to be gentle with both yourself and your date.

This is such a classic! Zoosk’s love song of the week is Champaign’s 1981 hit, “How ‘Bout Us”. Enjoy!

Though some people don’t consider this to be a true love song due to its rather stalkery lyrics, to many people this tune is indeed very romantic. In fact, creepy or not, it’s one of the more popular wedding songs of our times! Enjoy this week’s love song of the week, courtesy of the Police. “Every Breath You Take.”
Did you know roses have meanings according to color? If not, then this article’s for you. It’s true, not all roses are created equally. In fact, when you give someone a bouquet of roses, the color of the flowers is supposed to symbolize a message from you. Brush up on your Rose 101, or you might inadvertently send someone the wrong signal.
Here are the color meanings that ‘floriographers’ agree on when it comes to roses:
||Mystery, attaining the impossible, love at first sight
||Innocence, virtue, purity, reverence, humility
||Death, hatred, farewell, rejuvenation or rebirth
||Friendship, jealousy, infidelity, apology, broken heart
||Desire, passion, joy of life, youth, energy
||Love at first sight
|red + white
|red + yellow
|Joy, happiness and excitement
Just a little something to keep in mind, next time you decide to send a bouquet of roses. For more on the meanings of roses, visit Flower Dictionary. Happy Zoosking!

Congrats to Zoosk couple Dottie and Eric on their marriage! The couple met on Zoosk earlier this year and just celebrated a wedding! Dottie shares with us:
Eric and I met on Zoosk in February 2012. We communicated on Zoosk, and then via text and phone calls for about a month before actually meeting. We met on March 17, 2012 for our first date: to Saturday evening church and dinner! By the third date: music and dancing at home, we knew we were in love! We took a pre-wedding honeymoon trip to Puerto Rico in July 2012 and were married September 2, 2012…five months and 16 days after meeting on Zoosk! I love this man and am absolutely confident he loves me! Attached is an ‘unofficial’ wedding photo, sent to me by a friend, from her cell phone. Official wedding photos should be ready this week.”
We wish them many happy returns and all the best, and we can’t wait to see the official wedding photos.

Today’s Zoosk success story couple hails from Wentzville, Missouri. Jeanne writes:
“I first winked at Scott on June 28th, but he didn’t respond until 19 days later. I’m 49 and live in Wentzville and Scott is 46 but lives in O’Fallon. We “connected” almost immediately and spoke to each other almost every day. Once we exchanged phone numbers, we talked for 2-3 hours every night. Both of us were quite new to online dating and Zoosk. In fact, I was the first gal to wink at Scott, but it took him 19 days to respond. We’re both dog lovers, both have labs, so it seemed only fitting that our first date was a doggy play date at the dog park. It was raining, but we met there anyway. The dog park was closed, so we decided to sit under a pavilion in the rain and talk. Our dogs became best buds right away and played together in the rain for hours. We were both so excited and nervous about meeting each other that we were shaking. We stayed there for almost 8 hours talking and we didn’t leave until dark. The rain turned out to be a blessing. The park was empty and quiet and it was the most romantic date of my life. Since then, we have both looked forward to the rain and have even had some outdoor romantic dates to remind us of our first date. We both fell in love that day and we know that we will be together for the rest of our lives. Somehow, I have managed to stay single for 49 years and had convinced myself that I never wanted to get married. Thank you Zoosk for providing me with the tools to meet the most wonderful man in the world!” –Jeanne and Scott from Wentzville, Missouri
